getting married?

a couple of scheduling/availability notes:

*I am now booking 2011 weddings! I am booking Feb-August 2011 weddings. I will probably not book weddings in the fall of 2011. Dates do fill up fairly fast, so contact me now if you are thinking of a 2011 wedding.

*While I am only booking a VERY limited number of family sessions, I am still available for couples sessions. So....if you would like to schedule a couple session of any kind (engagement, bridal, unbridaled, "we just love each other so much and want to have pictures of us plastered everywhere to declare that love..." ) call me!

*Please note that I am now fully booked for 2010. Thank you to ALL of my clients: past, present and future. You guys all are super fantastic, and i am blessed to be a part of your special day!

this post will remain at the top for awhile, please scroll down for new picture-posts

caving......

in to pressure. Okay. You are all going to think I can't make up my mind. And, well, you're right, I can't. After getting numerous inquiries, I will again be booking A VERY LIMITED NUMBER of portrait sessions.  And I am serious when I say very limited, approximately two a month

A little more information regarding my portrait sessions:

* They will be scheduled during the week, as weekends are reserved for wedding & my family

* Sessions are $200 and include a 2 hour session, a DVD of high resolution files, and an online gallery

* My sessions are relaxed and non posed. I want to take pictures of you playing and having fun together. If you want a more formal session, or studio type pictures I can recommend other photographers to you.

*I will only book 2 sessions per month at most.

so you had your pictures taken........now what?

The wedding {or engagement, newborn, couple, unbridaled session} is over. You have all these lovely pictures. But what do you do with them? Do they sit on your DVD or online galleries? Do you post a couple pictures to facebook? You love them, but how do you display them in a way you can enjoy them every day? Well here are a couple of options:

1. Add an album to your package. My personal favorite albums are coffee table albums. They are slim and modern and just gorgeous! You can even order coffee table albums of family sessions (or with my wedding package you actually get a different version of a coffee table album of your engagement photos). I have a bunch of coffee table albums from my own family sessions, my maternity sessions, my 365 day projects.....anything! They are a great way to be able to share your pictures!

2. Canvases! One of my personal favorite ways to share your FAVORITE pictures are through wall canvases. They are just SO gorgeous, a total piece of art for your walls. I get so many comments on our canvases. I absolutely LOVE them. If you are interested in having a canvas made, let me know! And my personal philosphy on canvases are GO BIG. The wedding canvas below is 16X20 and as you can see, it would look better on that wall if it were MUCH BIGGER. At least, that is my opinion ;)

3. Frame them! Hang them! I am the WORST at this. For about three years I have been wanting to do some picture walls in our house. And I finally finished it this winter. And I am SO glad I did. I LOVE being able to look at all our pictures hanging in our house. As an example, here are our photo walls---in our stairway

now.......what will YOU do with the photos you have "trapped" on your computer, online, or on discs?

Anna.....newborn

remember how I said I wasn't doing portrait sessions? well.....a few months back when I photographed Teag, I decided to exclude newborn shots in that statement. I.LOVE.NEWBORNS. they are just so adorable, and tiny, and wonderful. If you would like to schedule a newborn shoot, it MUST take place in the first two weeks of life....and you MUST be wanting sleepy, simple shots such as you see in this and teag's post.

I was so excited when one of my wedding couples, Sarah and Mike, contacted me about taking newborn pictures of their little girl Anna. She was such a little doll. She definitely didn't want to sleep during shots, and she wasn't TRULY happy until Mama and Daddy had her all cuddled up in their arms. As it should be! She is just too incredibly adorable!

Henry

I know some of you may look at this post and think BUT, I thought you said you WEREN'T photographing families and babies. And that is true, I am not booking any family/baby shots. BUT we were having a playdate with my dear friend Bonnie and her gorgeous little family. And I couldn't NOT have a mini session with Henry. I mean, just look at those eyes! I am sure you recognize them, his big brother Charlie (who has been on my blog numerous) times is also blessed with big blue eyes and gorgeous lashes.

wish list.....

I have been thinking of some things on my 'to photograph' wishlist....... and among them are:

* A birth. I STILL would really like to photograph a birth. I had two births to *maybe* shoot this year.....but with labor and delivery being as unpredictable as it is, they didn't work out. So......if you are having a baby this year and would like it photographed, let me know!

*a proposal. not an engagement session ,but an honest to goodness proposal. how awesome would it be to have your proposal caught on "film". pretty darn awesome. (not sure how many guys read this blog, but believe me guys, I bet your gal would love it!)

*more unbridaled or "already married" love sessions. want another chance to wear your gorgeous dress? or been married for 10 years and have No pictures {other than your wedding pics) with your husband? well......I would love to shoot a session for you. (not a family session, a session just focusing on the two of you!) unbridaled sessions are in your wedding dress--which no, will not get trashed, but you do get to be more free than on your wedding day, but a love session wouldn't have to be.

i have some other ideas floating around in my brain about shoots i would like to do, but those will have to wait.....but if you would like to talk to me about anything listed above, definitely do!
